3 walking routes we love

Langton Field Caravan Park in Cumbria is getting well underway with our fourth pitch now sold! As we will be welcoming our new holiday makers on site very soon we thought we would share our three favourite walking routes all from your caravan door…

1. Flakebridge wood – This peaceful woodland walk is a must! Head straight down the public footpath from your caravan, through the field and enjoy the circular route all the way around. This walk is for all abilities a nice, leisurely stroll that takes roughly 1-1.5 hours. Walk at your own pace and enjoy taking in the stunning scenery – beautiful at all times of the year but especially in the Spring months. May especially when the famous bluebells make their appearance, closely followed a few weeks later by the rhododendrons which smell divine! Wildlife also doesn’t go amiss on this walk with plenty of rabbits, pheasants and birds to see. You also may be lucky enough to see a deer – it has been known! This lovely local walk is most certainly a family favourite.
2. Murton Pike – Part of The Pennines this is the fell that you will look out onto everyday – one you never get tired of looking at. So it’s only right you get those walking boots on and enjoy the walk to the top – and boy is what greets you worth it! With a full 360′ panoramic view of the Eden Valley which on a good, clear day you can see for miles, Howgill fells to the South and the Lakeland fells to the West. One suited to the keen walker, this ones for you and definitely one to tick off the bucket list.
3. Brackenber Moor – Another lovely walk a stones throw away from our park is on the nearby golf course. Perfect for walking and golf if you so fancy! For those who would prefer a shorter walk then just follow the loop right around the course taking in the beautiful views of surrounding fells as far as the eye can see. Why not stop at the club house for a bite to eat and a glass of wine?! For those who would prefer a bit more of a challenge then you could extend the walk by walking on up to the village of Hilton or further still to Murton.
